Job description
Spud is looking for an Outbound Team Lead at our Calgary Distribution Center.
The Warehouse Outbound Team Lead assists with the daily operations of the Edmonton Warehouse. Leading a group of team members, the Team Lead is responsible for executing one or more of the many daily outbound activities. While completing these tasks, the Team Lead will be expected to provide coaching, assistance and support to the team members assigned to them. As this role is supporting the team responsible for on time and excellent customer order fulfillment, the Team Lead will be held to the highest level of standard work within all functions.
Responsibilities:
Lead a group of team members allocated to you by the coordinator to complete any of the following activities, but not limited to:
Picking of orders in a specific zone or zones
Induction of customer orders
Handling the inflow and outflow of customer orders at the problem solve area
Handling the inflow and organization of customer orders at the outbound shipping docks
Assist the coordinator with the training of new and existing team members
Engage and develop the team through coaching and support
Lead with positivity and empathy, while ensuring that team members respect their peers and the requirements of their positions
Help develop new procedures and improvements to current procedures
Seek out and engage in opportunities to further personal leadership development
Other duties as assigned
Job requirements
- Experience in a warehouse setting and/or within the grocery industry would be terrific!
- History of working with food, either in a service, retail, or production role, and strong understanding of food safety and quality control processes
- Desire to actively problem solve and think creatively to improve processes and complete tasks on a daily basis
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs comfortably, and be on your feet throughout the day
- Ability to work comfortably in a cooler all day
- Strong English language communication skills
- Punctuality and productivity - when you don't arrive, your team suffers
- Ability to make quick quality decisions
- Team spirit and willingness to work together
- Enthusiasm, energy, and a positive attitude!
