Job description
SPUD is looking for a permanent part time Delivery Driver to join our team based in the Lower Mainland. All candidates applying must be available to work on Sunday’s.

As a Delivery Driver at Spud and its group of companies, you will be responsible for delivering grocery orders and goods to customers and partners. You’ll follow assigned routes, ensure order accuracy, and uphold our high standards for customer service and safety. Your excellent communication skills and attention to detail, safe driving habits, and friendly attitude will make you a key part of our customer experience. Whether you're behind the wheel, loading bins, or helping in the distribution centre, your impact helps keep our operations running smoothly.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Safely load, transport, and deliver groceries and goods between warehouses, customer locations, and partner sites in a timely and professional manner.
Follow assigned delivery routes, customer notes, and special instructions to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
Complete vehicle inspections (pre- and post-trip), and ensure the cab and cargo area are clean, organized, and safe.
Review and verify purchase orders before departure and upon delivery to confirm accuracy.
Pick up and return empty bins, milk bottles, freezer bags, and ice packs from customers.
Provide excellent customer service during every delivery—be the friendly and reliable face of Spud.
Load/unload goods using pallet jacks, carts, and other equipment (training provided as needed).
Strap and stabilize skids/pallets and products to prevent movement or damage during transport, following all safety protocols and company guidelines (3 and 5-ton trucks).
Report and document any delivery discrepancies, customer concerns, or incidents promptly.
Support distribution centre operations by assisting with cross-docking, sorting, and verifying incoming/outgoing bins.
Maintain cleanliness of the fleet by regularly cleaning and detailing delivery vans.
Comply with all company policies, health & safety practices, and transportation regulations.
Perform additional tasks and duties as assigned by Logistics leadership.
Job requirements
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driving abstract.
Experience driving larger delivery vehicles, such as Mercedes Sprinter vans and 3-ton Hino trucks, is required.
Ability to comfortably drive around Vancouver Island in all types of weather, displaying excellent driving skills.
Must have excellent English language skills, both written and spoken.
Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Flexible and adaptable, able to thrive in changing schedules and environments.
A self-starter — able to identify and resolve issues without being prompted.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift
Requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, and lean for extended periods.
Must be comfortable sitting for long durations while operating delivery vehicles.
Will work in varied weather conditions, including cold environments and may be required to assist in digging out vehicles from snow.
Exposure to refrigerated areas and coolers is part of daily operations.
