SPUD is looking for a Marketing Coordinator to join our team! This 12-month, remote-first, hybrid role is open to candidates based in British Columbia or Alberta.

The Marketing Coordinator supports marketing activities across Retail, eCommerce, and Digital; and is responsible for ensuring promotional webpages are live and accurate. They will provide administrative and marketing support to the Spud marketing team.

  • Plan, schedule, and execution of recurring promotions.
  • Analyze, document, and report on the performance of campaigns.
  • Research and evaluate potential new promotions to increase revenue and traffic to Spud and/or Blush Lane.
  • Setting up tracking systems for online marketing activities.
  • Collaborate with the Design team to produce promotional materials.
  • Work closely with Marketing Manager to support and execute overall marketing strategies/campaigns.
  • Communicate and coordinate with store managers regarding upcoming promotional activities and signage.
  • Copywriting assets including but not limited to website, email, blog, and store signage.
  • Manage and execute weekly flyer activities.
  • Build shoppable, curated product pages to support email and website content.
  • Manage the scheduling of marketing banners for website for both online and retail.
  • Assist in managing Jira tickets, uploading website product images in Cloudinary.
  • Organize Photo related tickets in Jira:
    • Screen tickets for subject matter for relevant information.
    • Organize tickets to appropriate tasks.
    • Identify and prioritize tickets as dictated by the product category merchants on the site and/or about to be on promotion (Flyer, Loss Leaders, brand sales).
  • Process provided images that are submitted for product merchandising on the website:
    • Validate that submitted images meet standards before executing tasks.
    • Resize images to website specifications.
    • Organize and maintain image database in accordance with company standards.
  • Order and coordinate products for marketing-related photo shoots.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or Communications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in a marketing related role, or equivalent combination of applicable experience and education.
  • A creative thinker who can put themselves in the mindset of the customer.
  • Proven project management experience with ability to work on multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Very organized and detail oriented.
  • Strong grammar and editing skills; and ability to proof your own work.
  • Self-starter and ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally to accomplish goals.
  • Understanding of the business objectives related to marketing/brand management.
  • Knowledge of traditional, digital, and content marketing.
  • Proficiency in full Microsoft Office suite, especially with Word and Excel as well as experience with Eventbrite, WordPress, and online marketing tools.
  • Knowledge of Jira & Photoshop are an asset, but not a requirement.
  • Passionate about food and sustainability.
  • Understanding of the food industry, with a particular focus on the natural and organic segment of the industry.

Physical demands & working conditions:

  • Occasional travel to Spud DCs or Blush Lane/Be Fresh stores (dependent on location) may be required.
  • Ability to work remotely.
