Spud is looking for a Director, Digital Marketing!


The Director of Digital Marketing is responsible for overseeing performance marketing focused on customer acquisition and retention.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage monthly digital budgets across all performance marketing channels including Paid Search, Paid Social, Affiliate, Display, SEO, and Referrals
  • Coach, lead and inspire our digital marketing team, with our Digital Marketing Manager.
  • Establish channel forecasts and budget recommendations, with the speed and ownership to adjust tactics and strategies quickly based on learnings and opportunities.
  • Work closely with agencies and in-house team to optimize media buying in effort to hit aggressive growth targets in a cost-effective manner.
  • Direct and manage agencies to achieve goals and ROI targets.
  • Maintain and monitor key metrics across channels including budget pacing, New Customers, LTV, and CAC.
  • Manage an experimentation roadmap to optimize performance including A/B creative tests, incrementality tests, and spend scaling tests.
  • Test new channels and technology to identify incremental audiences and inventory for accelerating growth.
  • Work with our internal Financial Analytics team to analyze, understand, and make data-based decisions.
  • Bring expertise in house and build our internal talent.
  • Manage budget and forecasting, including analysis and detailed metrics between spend and performance, providing recommendations on how best to capture ROI.
  • Additional duties and projects as assigned.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and education.
  • 5-7 years of related performance marketing experience.
  • Understanding of CPA, CPC, CPM and LTV.
  • Experience leading teams, guiding & coaching on career direction, development, growth and performance.
  • Hungry to grow market share, drive top-line sales, and achieve financial results.
  • Not afraid to test, fail, and iterate quickly.
  • Comprehensive understanding of organic and paid marketing channels.
  • Experience with Web & App Tracking/Attribution.
  • Experienced with integrating design for UI/UX for Marketing.
  • Highly proficient in Excel as well as a strong grasp of funnel analytics, A/B testing, and metrics driven performance marketing.
  • Proven ability to excel in a fast-paced, collaborative work environment, managing multiple priorities at once.
  • Strong English language verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Passionate about food, community, and sustainability. Passionate about learning and staying up to date in the industry.
  • Understanding of the food industry, with a particular focus on the natural and organic segment of the industry is an asset.
