Job description

Spud is looking for a Delivery Coordinator to join our team in Calgary (3200 14 Ave NE)! The schedule for this position is Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, 1:00 pm to 11:00 pm.


The Delivery Coordinator assists the Delivery Supervisor in the daily operations of the Delivery Team by overseeing and delegating tasks to the Delivery Team lead(s). They are responsible for ensuring the plans of the Delivery Supervisor are properly executed by the Delivery Team lead(s) and evening delivery team. They oversee the operations of the evening delivery team, and they are responsible for building the routes for the drivers the next day. They are responsible for developing and tracking delivery team KPIs including on-time deliveries rates, misdelivery rates, and driver efficiency scores. They are also the main link between the Customer Care and Delivery teams.

Duties & responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate updates of SPUD customer delivery info as it pertains to delivery drivers and delivery routing.
  • Act as the lead for all Delivery Team Members and Team Leads, ensuring they are prepared to execute their deliveries efficiently.
  • Coordinate and delegate re-deliveries, on-demand deliveries, transfers, and pickups.
  • Route deliveries using routing software.
  • Work with our Warehouse Operations teams to resolve issues and enhance service.
  • Assist with on-boarding of new drivers and Team Leads, own the driver training program.
  • Resolving issues with equipment and vehicles as they occur, passing on the relevant information to the Delivery Supervisor and Fleet Manager to deal with the next morning.
  • Keep track of driver behaviour using tools like GPS, to ensure safe driving practices and minimize vehicle damage.
  • Develop new methods of tracking delivery KPIs and keep on top of current methods
  • Lead by example in going above and beyond for our customers.
  • Cover delivery routes when drivers call in sick, if required.
  • Be the champion of safe driving habits.
  • Ensure Pre-Pack/Pre-Loads are completed in an efficient manner.
  • Ensure efficient management of paper records, including filing of Driver Checklists and Route sheets.
  • Ensuring Heath and Safety practices are followed and any incidents and documented and reported accordingly.
  • Additional duties as required.

Job requirements


  • Moderately experienced professional looking to further develop their leadership skills; leadership experience is expected.
  • A good understanding of computers and smart phones is a must.
  • A working knowledge of excel and routing software applications.
  • Organized and efficient.
  • Flexible – able to adjust to changing schedules, environments, and new challenges.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A full Class 5 Driver’s license (Non-GDL) and clean driving abstract.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Display a passion for creating amazing customer experiences worth sharing.
  • Responsible and mature.
  • Someone who loves supporting and helping others.
  • A self starter: someone who is motivated to find gaps in procedures and problems that need solving and works at fixing them without being asked.
  • A willingness to be scrappy and own it

Physical demands & working conditions:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs continuously
  • Ability to work on your feet all day, bending, leaning, crouching, and walking
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time and operate larger vehicles
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time in cold environments (eg: digging vehicles out of the snow)
  • Comfortable with driving in low-light/low visibility conditions (eg: driving at night, driving in snow squalls)
